Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral. It is harmful when disturbed, airborne and inhaled. The most commonly found asbestos products are pipe
and duct insulations, drywall joint compound, plaster and texture finishes, spray applied fireproofing, vermiculite, vinyl asbestos floor tile,
vinyl sheet flooring, ceiling tiles and roofing membranes. It is imperative that before any renovation, the owner of the building or project,
has an environmental consultant perform a designated substance survey (DSS) so that all parties are informed, prior to any work, of the potential
hazards within the work area.
Asbestos abatement, repairs and delineation is governed by Ontario Regulation 278/05. In accordance with the regulation, all management and supervisory
personnel are all MTCU Type 3 certified as workers and supervisors. Type 3 certifications are available upon request as well as available on site.
